Please join us Friday, July 13th, to celebrate the work of Leah Gose in her exhibition “The Uncommon Place of What is Left Behind”

In the series The Uncommon Place of What is left Behind, Leah is investigating the clarity of memory by exploring vacant and neglected urban interior spaces through fragmentation and reassembly. Operating under an internal logic of repositioning, the torn images force the viewer into a different type of looking in an attempt to reconstruct and rebuild the space within the photograph itself. The repetition of tearing in each image serves as a metaphor for the process of recalling a memory. By transforming the original spaces back and forth between 3D and 2D, Leah have created puzzles that cannot be solved. These images serve to reconstruct the past through place and ignite the viewer’s sense of recognition and memory.

This exhibition is generously sponsored by Hude Legal Services, PLLC.
