Hatch Street Studios located at 88 Hatch Street, New Bedford, the Whaling City’s largest artist community, is pleased to announce our first “Second Saturday” monthly event on May 12th from 12:00 to 5:00.
Hatch Street Studios will be alive with art and fun events with the aim of bringing together the neighboring community and the art community.
In addition to a variety of our of talented Hatch Street artists who will be opening their studios for the day, Hatch St. Studios is also partnering with 3rd Eye, a New Bedford based youth empowerment organization and SUPERFLAT NB, a New Bedford based mural art project.
The activities will include live mural paintings by muralists Brian Tillett @bbthegun508 , Alex Jardin @imamnotanartist and Meaggsy @meaggsy. 3rd EyE will be hosting several events including a “Doodles Creative Sessions” which encourages the power of play and inspires families to engage in the creative process. Also taking part is “LIFE FUNdamentals” a group that supports entrepreneurs by providing a mentor team, advice and guidance and a built-in professional network. In addition, Swift Charakterz Dance Team which specializing in all styles of dance within the Hip Hop Culture will perform along with a Secret City Podcast.
Destination Soups, a New Bedford restaurant will be offering their fabulous soups and sandwiches.
Come and celebrate the connection between art and community, this is a free event and open to the public.
