The Center for Arts Programming is delighted to launch the area’s only book club for art lovers which includes a variety of art-related themes and topics. The Book Club will meet in LYME’s Krieble Library and be led by Amy Slowik, Branch and Special Projects Librarian at the Krieble Library, Lyme Academy College of Fine Arts. Participants in the first Book Club will read biographies of two women artists, Georgia O’Keefe and Frida Kahlo. The registration fee includes books and weekly refreshments.

The Krieble Library at Lyme Academy College of Fine Arts, a branch library of the University of New Haven, supports the academic programs of the College through its collection resources, staff assistance and services. Members of the University, College, alumni, and the regional community are welcome to visit and use the Library and its materials during our service hours. About Amy Slowik
Amy is the Branch & Special Projects Librarian for the Krieble Library at the LYME Academy College of Fine Arts, College of the University of New Haven. More than 40,000 books and publications on art and artists fall under her jurisdiction at LYME. A specialist in Medieval Art History, Amy’s publications include “The Battle of the Self in The Romance of the Rose” in The DePauw Journal of Undergraduate Research,“Collecting Medieval Manuscripts” in Collection Building, and “The Value of Research in Academic Libraries” in College & Research Libraries.

Prior to LYME, Amy worked at the Newberry Library, Chicago; the Art Institute of Chicago; the University of Iowa; Western Kentucky University; San Diego Public Library; and the Russell Library in Middletown, Connecticut. Amy received her Masters of Arts in Art History from the University of Chicago and her Masters of Library and Information Science from the University of Iowa, where she was an IMLS Digital Library Fellow. She is a graduate of DePauw University and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art History and English Literature.
