CHESTER – Kate Hair, a local artist is being featured in “Oasis,” a month-long solo show in Maple and Main’s Stone Gallery during October.

The show begins Wednesday, Oct. 4 with the opening, Friday, Oct. 6 from 5 to 8 p.m. during the town’s Chester’s annual Come Home to Chester Night when all the galleries, shops and restaurants welcome fall with special offerings.

Kate will be serving wine and appetizers but also apple slices with cheese and cider to reflect the evening’s apple theme; Maple and Main and others will be offering apples to visitors.

Kate, who grew up in Chester and has returned here to live, studied fine art, graphic design and textile/surface design at institutions including the Maine College of Art, Fashion Institute of Technology and the Lyme Academy. She also holds a degree in Plant Science from Rutgers University and is the manager of Dina Varano Gallery in town.
