Experience a 3-day oil portrait painting workshop with Laurel Boeck from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily at the artist’s studio in Bedford, NY. This class is for those who are fascinated with capturing the likeness and character of a person. From observation of the model, we will examine the effect of light falling on the structures and forms of the head. Mixing color for complexions will be discussed and demonstrated. We will cover the use of atmosphere and background towards creating a finished portrait. In addition, artists will receive information dealing with the practical side of a successful career in portrait painting.

Artists will be painting from a live model. All levels are welcome (practicing professionals, students, beginners). Specific information will be given to artists individually at the easel, guiding them through each phase of creating a painting. Be prepared to work hard, make new friends and best of all, have fun.

Workshop participants will have a one-hour lunch and discussion break each day.
