Donate without Loss: Artwork Exploring the Healing Arts
Kaviar Forge & Gallery
Entry Deadline: Apr. 6
We are excited to announce that Kaviar Forge & Gallery is currently accepting submissions for “Donate without Loss: Artwork Exploring the Healing Arts.” This juried group show is open to artists exploring the various components of health and medicine. This may include but is not limited to works addressing medical science, medical equipment, anatomy, cellular structure, health personnel, patients, or healing.
Through this show we hope to shed light on the prevalence of medicine in our lives. We also wish to raise awareness for blood/bone marrow stem cell donation, and the fact that it’s no longer an invasive procedure in over 90% of cases. It’s now similar to donating blood, though it takes a bit longer. There is a critical need for donors; the average person currently only has a 60% chance of finding a match. For non-Caucasian ethnicities, the chance of a match falls to only 20%. The procedure takes about 4 hours, a small price to pay for a saved life. The donor’s stem cells then easily replenish. Visit donatewithoutloss.com for more info about the procedure.
The exhibition will be displayed at Kaviar Gallery from May 26 – August 26, 2017. An
Opening Reception will be held May 26th 6-9PM during the F.A.T Friday Trolley Hop.
Artists are welcome to submit up to three images (JPEGS only) by email to [email protected] or by CD mailed to Kayla Bischoff, Kaviar Forge & Gallery, 147 Stevenson Ave., Louisville, KY, 40206.
