SmithKlein Gallery Presents Works by Renowned Sculptor Kevin Box on Friday, Feb. 3rd from 2-6 p.m. Kevin starts with a piece of paper, what he considered a ‘tabula rasa’ or a clean slate, perfect potential. This potential is realized with each crease of the paper. Taking into consideration geometry, light, architecture and the paper itself, Kevin’s artistic themes incite conversation and provoke thought. Though the end pieces look like paper, these works of art are cast bronze, steel and aluminum sculptures that are developed through a process that required many years of experience in the foundry. It can take from twelve weeks to six months for one of Kevin’s pieces to be realized. The show will run through the end of the month.
