RECYCLE 2017, the Brooklyn Waterfront Artists Coalition’s national juried show of art crafted from cast-off, discarded, and re-purposed materials, will be a celebration of ingenuity and imagination. We are seeking to exhibit sophisticated two- and three-dimensional art created in the re-use genre. To help us in this quest, we are once again privileged to have as our juror Harriet Taub, Executive Director of Exhibits at Materials for the Arts.

Show Details:
We are seeking to exhibit sophisticated two- and three-dimensional art created in the re-use genre. As well as looking for skill in the use of material, we want to see art that demonstrates the importance of conserving our limited natural resources. We look for how well the medium relates to the upcycling movement and how fully the artist’s intention or concept is presented and realized. Entries must incorporate at least 50 percent of repurposed, recycled, or reused materials.

Submission Deadline: Early Bird February 26, 2017, or Final Application Deadline March 12, 2017.
Gallery Exhibition Dates: May 13 – June 18, 2017 weekends 1-6 P.M.
Opening Reception: Saturday, May 13, 2017 from 1-6 P.M.

BEST of SHOW: $1000
MOST INNOVATIVE USE OF MATERIAL: $500
PEOPLES’ CHOICE: $250
CURATOR’S CHOICE: $250
CERTIFICATE of RECOGNITION: $1000 ($100 each for ten winners.)

ELIGIBILITY: This call for submission is open to all residents of the U.S. and its Territories 18 years of age or older. This is a juried exhibition for artists working in all traditional and non-traditional 2D and 3D media, including film/video when part of an installation.

SUBMISSIONS AND FEES: Only original works may be submitted.
Early Bird Submissions (through midnight, February 26, 2017): $45 for up to three (3) images plus $5.00 for each additional image.
Submissions between Februrary 27th and midnight March 12, 2017: $65 for up to three (3) images plus $5.00 for each additional image.
