Juried Art Exhibition: Sky
Tioga History Museum
Entry Deadline: Mar. 3
TIOGA HISTORY MUSEUM (THM) is pleased to announce the 2017 Juried Exhibition, with the theme of SKY. Artists are invited to submit two-dimensional or relief work for possible inclusion in the exhibition.
The museum is located along the banks of the Susquehanna River in the picturesque town voted, “Coolest Small Town in America” in 2010, by Budget Travel Magazine. Owego is also known for its participation in the Underground Railroad, with homes along the river bank that offered passage to people as they traveled to escape a system of slavery. Upstream, Hiawatha Island is a refuge for eagles and, downstream, the shoreline supports a heron rookery. Tioga County divides lands between the controversial practices of hydrofracking, and is a route to the Finger Lakes.
