Collagraph is a printmaking technique in which materials to be printed are collaged onto a printing plate. In this workshop, participants will create the collage plate using various found objects (such as dried fruit, flattened street trash or computer circuit panels) combined with painterly marks from glue and gesso. These plates are versatile and can be printed un-inked to create embossed prints, or inked-in relief as with a wood block. Because of the various levels on the plate, it lends itself to multi-color and viscosity printing, giving the artist many creative possibilities.
