Arts and Crafts Show Applicants Sought.

The Avon Arts Association is now accepting applications from artists and artisans for its 49th annual juried Arts and Crafts Show. This year’s show will be held September 24th and 25th in the Avon Village Marketplace located at 41 East Main St. (Route #44). It is a festive and well-promoted event held in a proven suburban arts market. Avon Village Marketplace is a group of small freestanding buildings housing restaurants, retail shops, boutiques and offices – a great venue and located right in Connecticut’s beautiful Farmington River Valley at the peek of the beautiful foliage season.

Artists and crafters from all over New England have participated in the past offering fine art and quality crafts including paintings, prints, collage, sculpture, pottery, mixed-media, photography, jewelry, soaps and lotions, textiles and more. All artists and crafters are invited to submit applications for this event. All work must be original. Manufactured or imported parts may be incorporated, but the major portion of each piece must be produced by the vendor.

All entries are juried and you will be informed of the status of your acceptance within two weeks of receipt of your application. The entry fee is $135 if paid before August 1, 2016 and $145 if after for a standard 10 x 15 foot booth space. Members’ fee (who’s dues are fully paid by February 1, 2016) is $65.

Not only is this a great opportunity for artists and craftsmen, it is also a worthy cause. All proceeds go to the Avon Arts Scholarship fund. Recipients are chosen from Farmington Valley high school seniors who have been accepted for collegiate art studies. In addition, during the show, there is a booth featuring local young and emerging artists from elementary grades through high school.
