Studio 80 + Sculpture Grounds’ inaugural sculpture exhibition, Summer Sculpture Showcase 2015, which displayed the selected sculptural works of 12 acclaimed artists, was extremely successful, drawing over 1,000 viewers to the 4.5 acre sculpture garden throughout the busy 2015 summer season. Due to the success of that Showcase, Gilbert Boro, owner and sculptor at Studio 80 + Sculpture Grounds in Old Lyme, has announced Summer Sculpture Showcase 2016 and applications are now invited for this year’s Showcase.

• Send submissions via email to [email protected] OR via snail mail to:
Studio 80 + Sculpture Grounds
80-1 Lyme Street
Old Lyme, CT 06371

• Up to five (5) works may be submitted – large-scale outdoor works are preferred; small pedestal pieces are also welcome for display in the ESB Gallery.

• Complete the submission form with an Artist’s Statement and a Resume/CV.

• Image files should be high-resolution and can be sent via a file-sharing site (e.g., WeTransfer.com). Ensure you indicate the corresponding file name with the work it represents on your application form.

• The jurors are acclaimed artists Gilbert V. Boro, Julia Pavone and Lisa Simonds.

• Installation will take place Monday, May 9 – Friday, May 13, 2016. Artists can arrange their own transportation of works to the grounds and self-install OR ship works to the grounds and studio staff will install the sculptures. Shipping costs are the responsibility of the artist.

• Works on the grounds are available for sale at a 20% commission to Studio 80 + Sculpture Grounds. Prices are determined by the artist and do not include sales tax, delivery or installation at the purchaser’s location, all of which are the responsibility of the purchaser.

• Submission of work automatically waives any claim for damage or loss against Studio 80 + Sculpture Grounds, including its employees. Studio 80 + Sculpture Grounds will exercise reasonable care in handling of all entries, but will not assume any liability for loss or damage while in Studio 80 + Sculpture Grounds possession. Works must be independently insured by the artist.

• De-installation will be Monday, Aug. 29 – Friday, Sept 2, 2016. Artists can collect works themselves or studio staff can re-crate works for return to artists, who will be invoiced for shipping costs.
