Eligibility: Professional artists (18 and over) born, studying, or working in Texas. Works must not have been created under supervision of others.

Juror Biography: Clint Willour has been an art professional for over 40 years. From 1973 – 1989 he served as director of a commercial gallery in Houston. Since 1990, he has been the curator of the Galveston Arts Center, serving additionally as Executive Director from 1995 – 2005. In addition, he curates exhibitions and serves as a juror for numerous commercial and non-profit organizations throughout the United States as well as serving on selection panels and boards for various commissions and museums. He was given the Arts Professional Legend Award by the Dallas Contemporary Arts Center in 2001, was named the Texas Art Patron of the Year 2007 by Art League Houston, and in 2013, was declared a Texas Master by the Houston Center for Contemporary Craft.

Awards and Catalog: $5000 in prizes will be awarded; $2500 for first, $1500 for second, and $1000 for third. An exhibition catalog will be produced.

Fees: There is no application fee. Up to five pieces may be submitted per artist.

Specifications: Artwork may be created with any 2-D or 3-D media, with the exception of film or video. Works must be suitable for viewing by all age groups. Two-dimensional works must be suitably framed or edge-finished and may not exceed 54 inches in any direction, including frame. Plexiglas is preferred for glazed, fragile works. Artwork and wall sculptures must be wired and ready to hang with appropriate hardware and must not exceed fifty (50) pounds. No ceiling-suspended pieces are allowed.

Submission Guidelines: Titles must be included on your entry form and cannot be changed after submission. Photo files should be sent as JPEGs. File names should be “LastName_Entry1_Title.jpg”, “LastName_Entry2_Title.jpg”, etc. I.e., Smith_Entry1_StarryNight.jpg

A diptych or triptych is considered a single work. Artists may not change any information once it is submitted. Artist will be notified by e-mail of the results.
