Black Love Matters!
Who We Are:
Our passion is to empower people to be who they were created to be. Our mission is to provide social justice experiences and ignite social change and reform through the arts. Our vision is that direct engagement with the arts can change the world.
Exhibition Opportunity:
“Justice is what love looks like in public.”

Black Love Matters! is an exhibition that will promote love in our communities and therefore promoting justice. This exhibit will hang during Black History month and is a lens on how love in our community promotes social justice and awareness. Artists wishing to participate do not need to be of African descent but the art must focus on black love, what does it mean to you and what does it mean for the community. Each piece accepted will portray a culture that inspires change and promotes social justice.
Submission Guidelines:
• Must be 2D or 3D
• Longest side must not exceed 36”
• Must concern issues surrounding community, love and justice
• Made within the last 2 years
• Artist must be 18 years and older.
• All levels of artists are welcome to apply.

• Examples of performances (i.e. video, photographs, etc.)

*Once accepted, artists will be required to pay a $50 acceptance fee for up to 2 pieces. There is no commission on sales, however as we are a non-profit, a suggested donation for 20% of sales would be greatly appreciated.

February 11th-17th Installation
February 19th Exhibit
March 18th Closing Reception
March 19th-26th Take down and pick up artwork (schedule pickup)**
**Artwork left at the space after March 26th will be charged a storage fee of $5/day and after 10 days will become property of the studio.

This exhibit will be displayed at:
3rd Friday Event for February and March at the Zhou B Art Center (TJA Studio), 1029 West 35th Street 4th Floor Chicago IL and will be on display for events booked during the exhibition.
Artists are also encouraged to bring any merchandise for purchase during our exhibition. Please mention in the email if you’d like to do this.
