CALL | This call is for site specific installation proposals. Dab Art’s curatorial panel will select 1 artist whose proposed project will be installed for the duration of 6 months in The HUD Gallery.  The selected artist will also receive a stipend (amount to be determined based on available funds).

PROPOSALS | Artists will need to include a bio or artist’s statement and an updated CV, 4-15 images of completed and/or proposed artwork (images of sketches, concepts and works in progress are acceptable) and a written paragraph describing proposed installation/project. Proposed artwork does not have to be for sale.

ABOUT DAB ART | Dab Art is a curating company focused on high caliber exhibits, while remaining affordable and beneficial for working artists. Specializing in progressive art and mixed genre exhibitions, we feature established & emerging artists from all over the world. Dab Art curates all exhibitions at The HUD Gallery.

VENUE | The HUD (Gallery + Studios) is a 10,000 square foot vintage building completely dedicated to the arts. This premier venue is located just north Los Angeles in Ventura, California. The 3000 square foot gallery is contemporary, spacious & accommodates both 2D and 3D artwork. The vaulted ceilings and suspended display walls create a distinctive & inspiring exhibition space.

EXHIBITION | The installation will remain on display for a duration of 6 months, from January to June 2016. The entire piece/project must be installed by December 18th, 2015 and uninstalled by June 24th, 2016. A reception will be held January 1st, 2016 formally debuting the new installation.

NOTIFICATION | The winning artist will be anounced on our website November 16th, 2015. The selected artist will be given ample time to prepare and install their work and make travel arrangements prior to the exhibit date.

SPECIFICATIONS | The final installtion must fit within 2700 cubic feet and suspended from cross beams. The space dimensions are 9′ x 13′ x 23′ (see diagram image). Please note that all transportation/installation costs will be the artists’ responsibility.

ACCEPTED MEDIUMS | Installations can be fabricated wood, metal, electrical, glass, digital or graphic assemblages, all genres, mediums and culminations are welcome. Artists can submit up to 2 different proposals.

COMMISSION | Proposed projects/installtions are not required to be for sale. Dab Art will retain a 35% commission on installtion artwork sold while on exhibit (December 18th, 2015 – June 24th, 2016) in the The HUD Gallery.
