The Experiment Comedy Gallery presents Comedy & Tragedy a fine art show that explores our darkness and lightness. Because all tragedy needs a dose of comedy and all comedy needs a bit of tragedy.

We will showcase a variety of fine art interpretations of tragedy without limitation to medium.* What does tragedy look like to you? What does it feel like? Do you have an emotionally heavy piece that could use a comedic interpretation? Initially looking for a dark surrealism takes on the subject, but am open to all ways of representing tragedy. Submission will help determine how Tragedy is represented.

After pieces are selected our in house comics and featured comics for the months of December and January will have a chance to comedically re-name the works. Their only guideline is nothing hateful. Comedic titles will be selected with an eye towards how comedy can help make life’s tragedies less heavy.
