Kalimah Muhammad’s sophomore solo exhibition, Objects, explores the contemporary state of being an object. Defined as the thing being observed or acted upon, Objects, highlights an object’s autonomy while seeking to occupy its own position in the world. Reflecting on art, language and societal structures, the exhibition examines themes of identity, influence, class, and value.
The exhibition of new work by Andy Zimmermann. Three Sculptures and Two Installations, One with Sound shows the range of Zimmermann’s approach, from simple welded steel structures, painted black, to large-scale installations, one involving sensors, vibrating piano strings, and programmed electronics.
