BROOKLYN
Soapbox Gallery
Oct. 16, 2024 - Nov. 9, 2014
Soapbox Gallery is proud to present recent paintings and sculpture by Brooklyn-based artists Halina Marki and Winicjusz Lysik. Focusing on the unspoken interconnectedness that links all human beings, they reflect on the constantly evolving rhythm of human life, and on Man’s place within a powerful and sometimes abrupt nature.
Using repetition of shapes, patterns, letters and numbers, they question the relationship between nature and culture, organism and construction, symbolism and reality. In BROOKLYN, they particularly concentrate on translating the crisscrossing of people and cultures from all around the world – just as it is in our city of multitudes – into a visual vocabulary.
