Miami Art Museum presents Rashid Johnson: Message to Our Folks.

Exhibition preview: September 6, 6-9pm

Rashid Johnson’s first first major museum solo exhibition includes an intimate look at the baffling experience of a black identity as featured in this art presentation. The New York based artist opens to him self to share with the viewer the positive childhood role models with the commonplace objects from his childhood. He considers the simple objects such as mirrors, tiles, rugs, CB radios, shea butter and plants that weave a life experience.
