Providing a museum setting for student art in various media, Mystic Museum of Art’s Young At Art exhibition displays 163 works from students in 26 area elementary, middle, and high schools in Southeastern Connecticut, Westerly, RI, and Fishers Island, NY. Prizes are given at each school level for two- and three-dimensional work. An opening reception will be held from 1-3 pm on Saturday, March 4.

The exhibition runs through March 25. MMoA is open 11 am-5 pm Tuesday through Sunday. Admission is free. Concurrent with Young At Art, MMoA and the Golden Age of Illustration highlights the works of museum artist members Garrett Price, Harve Stein, and Herbert M. Stoops. The concise exhibition of thirteen works from MMoA’s permanent collection includes a 1951 New Yorker cover by Price, which depicts a Mystic Art Association exhibition installation, and Stoops’ Anno Domini, a haunting portrait of World War I refugees, which won the 1940 Isidor Medal from The National Academy.
