Mike Womack’s fifth solo exhibition with the gallery, Crawl Space presents a series of monochromatic paintings embedded in the accumulated, interstitial materials of architectural core samples. Including such disparate materials as marble, gravel, dirt and a carved wooden table leg, the minimalist gesture is subsumed by its surroundings, illustrating a vertical hierarchy from soil to high culture, luxury product.
