In the wake of an 18-month artist residency at the ICA Boston, as well as several major public commissions across the US, Andrea Rosen Gallery is thrilled to present Matthew Ritchie’s fifth solo-exhibition with the gallery. Matthew Ritchie’s installations, which integrate painting, wall drawings, light boxes, performance, sculpture, and video, are investigations of the idea of information explored through science, architecture, history and the dynamics of culture, defined equally by their range and their lyrical visual language. This exhibition will further explore Ritchie’s synthesis and expression of complex systems through new bodies of painting, sculpture, video and wall drawings. Recent illustrated essays will concurrently be published in edited volumes published by Bard CCA Publishing and Princeton University Press.
