As a young artist Philip Koch was inspired by the work of Edward Hopper to switch from painting abstractly to working in a realist direction. Since 1983 Koch has enjoyed 16 residencies staying and painting in Hopper’s former studio in Truro, MA on Cape Cod. In the exhibit will be work Koch created during the residencies, including paintings of the studio’s interior and landscapes of the surrounding area.
