The exhibition runs from Saturday, July 25th through Saturday, Sept. 5th.
There will be an Opening Reception, Fri., July 31st 6-8 PM.

The July 31st Reception is open to the public and will feature live music with the
Bill Morrison & Charlie Sutton Jazz Duo
The AvS Gallery is proud to present an exhibition featuring the outstanding work of these four national Artists:

Rick Daskam of Southbury, CT, exhibits beautiful and sensitive, landscapes and still life oil paintings. These plein-air paintings express a sense of atmosphere that is not too literal but more focused on feeling.

Rita Dawley of Uncasville, CT, creates fascinating primitive oil pastels and mixed media works that are an intimate portrayal in narrative form, of her life’s journey. Dawley states “…There is an organized chaos in my work as there is in my life”.

Mark Gerard McKee of Ledyard, CT, exhibits a new work in the form of paintings/found object installation. McKee is one of the multi-talented artists whose range of creativity and constant forward movement with his work, makes each new exhibition greatly anticipated and always stimulating as well as provocative to one’s mind and emotions.

Viretta Hoskins Smith (1907-1985) Artist ~ Writer ~ Musician. Grandsons Gayle and Barry Smith proudly exhibit Viretta’s exquisite watercolor illustrations. Her fascination with a creative theme of fairies, woodlands and small creatures is evident in the unfinished 1962 children’s book illustrations presented at the Alexey von Schlippe Gallery of Art.
