George Billis Gallery is pleased to announce Julian Cardinal and his work at the New York location. This exhibition will run from June 23rd to July 28th, 2015. The opening reception will be held at the George Billis Gallery located at 525 West 26th Street between 10th and 11th avenues on Thursday, June 25th from 6-8pm.

Julian Cardinal began drawing from the figure during his freshman year at the University of Vermont. Summering on Cape Cod, he has spent numerous hours painting in the stu- dio of his father, artist Robert Cardinal. In the spring of 2011, he graduated from UVM, and has been inspired by Cape Cod artists Michael Davis, Cynthia Packard and Anne Packard.

Cardinal’s understanding of fabrics paired with a clever use of texture throughout his depictions of the fugurative, still life and landscape alike, brings a dramatic element to his works.
