J. Mane Gallery is pleased to present its 3rd In Full Bloom International Online Juried Art Exhibition.

Throughout the history of art, certain subjects have resonated particularly strongly with artists and audiences alike. Trends reveal art’s most popular muses, with flowers at the forefront.

Rooted in ancient art and still prevalent today, depictions of blossoms, blooms, and other botanical elements can be found in many of the most significant art movements, whether carved into clay or starring in a still-life.

For this competition, artists were encouraged to share their artistic vision and interpretation of botanical and floral art. Botanical subjects included flowers, herbs, fruit, leaves, plants and related botanical and floral subjects. The artwork varied from realism to surrealism to abstraction, and all media were accepted, including 3-D. All artists over the age of 18, regardless of location or experience, were encouraged to submit their best inspired work.

Each of our themed exhibitions, awards for First, Second and Third Place. The First Place winner for the 3rd In Full Bloom show is Shobika Sekar for her oil, Floating Blooms. Shobika’s painting has elements of a strong composition, such as simplicity, and her technique with the oils conveys the touch and feel of the petals. Shobika is also the Featured Artist during the show.

Taking Second Place is Jeff Lodge for his acrylic painting, Lily After The Rain. Jeff’s attention to detail by capturing each droplet of water, and his unique point of view and composition make this a stand out image. And, Third Place goes to Alexandra Grigoroiu for her watercolor on paper, Cotton Heart. Alexandra’s effective use of color and contrast enhance the overall mood and visual impact of the image.

Honorable Mention awards were given as well. Honorable Mention awards go to Kim Chase for her acrylic painting, Forest Ferns, Michael J. Duke for his enhanced photo, Wild Bluebells, Lindsey Grant for her digital photo, Full On, Theodore Heublein for his watercolor, Spring Flowers, Elizabeth Kayl for her photo, Powerful Thirst, Diamante Lavendar for her mixed media digital art, Garden Of Positive Thoughts, Y. Hope Osborn for her photo, Wimple, Holly Romano for her instant film collage, Tulip, Sadie Roy for her photo, Floating Flower, and Natalie Wetzel for her mixed media (encaustic, alcohol ink, and marker), Fresh Picked. Each of these artists presented the subject in a unique way through composition, color and technique, making an impactful image.
