This exhibit brings to mind the question “what is an American in today’s culture.” The “I AM American” group exhibition uses a variety of styles, visual forms, symbols, and metaphors to provide a wide-angle view into the bicultural experience and explores the meaning of being “American.” Some works directly approach the theme of identity while others delve onto other subjects related to the American experience.
