511 West 25th street. Suite 607
New York, New York 10001

A Korean born painter Lee paints chairs, or any other household furnishing. They may represent the material, special, and utilitarian aspects of how we choose to live. This focus of attention enables the viewer to arbitrarily enter into the illusion of the picture plane and inhabit the scenario, which the artist has structured as a theatrical moment. Her paintings project a mood of ironic displacement of instability and, conversely, give us an extended look at the domestic environment in which we all live and cohabit with one another.
