Painting, printmaking and mixed media by Freddi Elton, Barbara Harder, Kathy Kane
Every artist begins with a surface, a tool and a medium. ELTON HARDER KANE, the July show at New Haven’s City Gallery, combines work made by a printmaker, a painter, and another printmaker. Each artist is quite different from the other, in approach and final product. Still, making a mark is, for each, the beginning. This show, on view July 6 – July 30, is about the different ways the artists have eliminated the extraneous and come to what is, for them, the essential. An Opening Reception will be held on Thursday, July 13, 5-7pm, or learn more at an Artists’ Talk on Sunday, July 30, 2-4pm.
