The Jansen Art Center is pleased to welcome Nanci Price Scoular to the Inn at Lynden for an exhibit of her work. The exhibit opens on March 4 and will be on display through June 15, 2021.

Artist Statement

The new paintings in this show are the result of a pause in our mad, mad world – a time of inner reflection and cultivation of hope for the healing of our planet and our people. Will we look back upon this time and see it as a reckoning – the beginning of a recalibration towards a more just, kind and peaceful world? For myself, retreating into my studio to paint, accompanied by my favorite music turned up loud, has always brought joy and a sense of hope. Color feeds my soul and the music drowns out any self-sabotaging thoughts so that I can show up fully and embrace the creative moment.
