Smithtown Township Arts Council is pleased to present Capturing the Spirit of Long Island at Mills Pond Gallery Saturday, August 11 through Sunday, September 9. The public is invited to an opening reception Saturday, August 11 at 2 pm to meet the exhibiting artists and view the work. Information or directions millspondgallery.org. 631-862-6575. We invited artists to share their artistic vision of any of our island’s four seasons…art depicting the characteristics of Long Island landscape, weather, wildlife or activities associated with winter, spring, summer or fall. 32 artists have been accepted to exhibit, showing 49 works in a variety of media including watercolor, gouache, oil acrylic, pastel and colored pencil.
