The goal of this advanced workshop is for artists to create a professional suite of artworks, on their own handmade paper, to be stored and displayed in a custom portfolio box. The first three weeks of this course will be taught by papermaker and book artist Kyle Holland, and will focus on producing sheets of handmade paper suitable for printing. The next three weeks will be taught by CCP Assistant Printer Elisabeth Walden, and will focus on producing a cohesive suite of prints on the handmade paper. The last two weeks will be taught by master bookbinder Jim Dimarcantonio, and will focus on constructing a portfolio box or case suitable for displaying and storing the artwork. Participants are not required to have any experience with papermaking or bookbinding, but some experience in one or more print mediums is required.
Intermediate to Advanced.
