Participants will learn to make monoprints/monotypes by adding colored clay slips, not ink, to a slab of wet clay [matrix].The clay slips are mixed with permanent pigments to achieve brilliant colors and textures. Textures and stencils are also added to the matrix, along with dry clays and pastels. Because the clay is inert and the pigments mixed with the clay are light fast, the results are rich and varied. Get ready to make monoprints in a very different way. No clay experience is necessary.
