Language is code. Comprehending language requires users’ inherent understanding of its most basic components: syntax, semantics and pragmatics.
“Wordplay” presents six visual artists who have specifically questioned how language functions and how meaning is comprehended.
Each artist approaches linguistic problems using traditional and emerging media and technologies. They all ask: ”How do we receive and process different types of linguistic information?”
