The Nevada Museum of Art presents a video installation of artist Rebeca Méndez, awarded the 2012 Smithsonian Cooper-Hewitt National Design.
Méndez’s who’s work is referenced to work her childhood in Mexico City and the Mexican jungle, where she would follow her father in pursuit of Mayan archaeology considers the nature of matter. Her interest stems from the environment and constant change. Méndez’s has done expeditions to geologically young Iceland that have furthered this interest.
