Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art displays a changing variety of special exhibitions, featuring art from museums around the nation, and abroad. Most importantly they welcome visitors to celebrate the American spirit in a new energy with a beauty of landscape. The museum considers the story of America by actively collecting, exhibiting and preserving works of art that are typical of our heritage.
The Museum, was founded in 2005 by Alice Walton is named by the nearby Crystal Spring and designed bridge construction by architect Moshe Safdie. Five pavilions surrounding two creek-fed ponds house galleries, meeting and classroom spaces.
Crystal Bridges permanent collection features American masterworks dating from the Colonial era to contemporary times and is displayed to the public year-round.
