The Photographic, Painting and Sketch Permanent Collection Review

The permanent collection of The Academy Art Museum began with just eleven works of art over fifty years ago. Now they boast more than 1,000 pieces including works of European and American artist on paper and canvas.
The Museum represents in key works by James A. M. Whistler, Félix Buhot, Frank W. Benson, Thomas Hart Benton, Rufino Tamayo, Phillip Pearlstein, Robert Motherwell, Richard Diebenkorn, Jim Dine, James Rosenquist and others.
Drawings include pieces by Pierre Bonnard, John Sloan, Arthur Bowen Davies, Walt Kuhn, Ossip Zadkine, Elisabeth Frink, Gene Davis, Anne Truitt and Grace Hartigan.
Recently the museum has acquired photography by the Chinese Summerhall and Robert Rauschenberg, as well as silver prints by Aaron Siskind.
