North Carolina Museum of Art presents Word Up: The Intersection of Text and Image.

High lighted in this very unique exhibition is the credible junction of the constant barrage of information and written text and the visual stimuli of mass media. On display is thirty paintings and drawings by six contemporary North Carolina artists. Each of the artist, some presenting work for the first time use text in two dimensional works of art. Word Up will feature work from Mathew Curran, Lincoln Penn Hancock, Nathaniel Lancaster, Shaun Richards, Gabriel Shaffer, and Derek Toomes.
