The Lives of Hamilton Fish (2014) is a film whose story is told through songs and is based on true events that occurred in New York’s Hudson Valley. Two men, both named Hamilton Fish were pronounced dead on the front page of The Peekskill Evening Star Newspaper of January 16, 1936, one was a statesman and the other, a serial killer. The newspaper editor (played by Mason) steps into a fantasy world attempting to comprehend the coincidence. Mason sings all of the film’s songs in costume, performing in sync to a backing soundtrack.
