Relational March: MIRAGE for MICA
MICA Gallery
Mar. 17, 2016, 06:00 pm
Performance art, or ‘visual arts performance’ resists mainstream commodification, speaking to political issues of bodies and personal rights while seeking deep forms of connection within localized social gatherings and sites for public sight. Artists Valerie Kuehne (Baltimore, MD), Joern Burmester and Florian Feigl (Berlin, DE) and the Brooklyn, NY based Panoply Performance Laboratory (PPL) are driving across Michigan, making relational, site-specific works of performance in response to local situations and to the work of artists. In response to current MICA exhibition of Andy Decker’s paintings, PPL and company will create a unique experience of song and action.
The one hour performance, including work by the artists, will be followed by a discussion.
