Paper marbling is an easy and fun way of creating beautiful artwork. It has a long and rich history spanning thousands of years in many cultures. Pigments are floated on a viscous water-based solution and then transferred to prepared paper. The result is a one of a kind creation of color, swirls and unique organic patterns. Marbled paper is an art on its own, but it can also be used as book covers, note cards, writing paper, wrapping paper, or in numerous other ways.

In this session, participants will learn about how marbling works including a discussion on prep work (which will have already been done), supplies (provided) and the tools used (also provided). Students will ultimately choose the pigments and design and create seven of their own pieces of marbled paper!
