Kathryn Markel Fine Arts is pleased to present two solo shows running from June 23rd through July 30th: Jeffrey Cortland Jones’ “Closer, Still,” and Eric Blum’s “New Paintings.” Inspired by the gritty industrialism of an urban landscape, Jones’ subtle works reveal themselves upon closer inspection to be comprised of heavily worked layers and a masterful sensitivity to color. Blum’s arrangements of ink-washed, wax-infused silks are rooted in modern painting techniques yet activated by the experimental manipulation of his media.
