Gloria Sanchez Hart “Retrospective: Fifty Years of Printmaking” Closing July 17, 2021

Closing Reception Saturday, July 17, 2021, 5pm-7pm includes a performance at 6pm by Aytahn Benavi, a young classical guitar celebrity from Austin.

This prestigious show was ranked one of Glasstire’s Top Five. “Tiemann Art Gallery features 28 works by San Antonio artist and educator Gloria Sanchez Hart. Mexican born, living in San Antonio since 1989, she has a Master degree in printmaking.”

The Artist- Gloria Sanchez Hart “I have an academic formation and over fifty years of experience as a professional printmaker. My artwork has been conceptualized as part of a series where I focus on survival, maternity, procreation, life and death, rites of passage, and Nahuatl mythology. I strive to express complex concepts with the simplest and most basic elements and challenge myself to remain true to the traditional techniques in lithography, etching, xylography, mono prints and mixed media by resisting the seduction of technology and digital technical effects.” https://glosanhart.com/

The Musician- Aytahn Benavi, born in Austin, Texas in 2001, is one of the eminent young guitarists in America. Aytahn has won numerous prizes in youth and open division competitions throughout the United States, including the CSU Guitar Symposium and Competition, Boston GuitarFest academy competition, and James Stroud International Classical Guitar Competition.
