Writing the Walls II, a collaborative Word/Imageproject. Metro area poets and Mara Mills, as project director, create a bridge between word and image. The poetry and short plays hang beside their visual inspiration at the Museum. The poets will be reading their works, 4-6 PM, with a reception to follow. The reading is a walking journey that takes participants through the exhibition. Poets include Alicia Morgan, Bob Zaslow, Ceci Iacabuzio, Coni Koepfinger, Donna Barkman, Gene Tashoff, Julie Nord, Karen Marmer, Kathleen Caputo, Les Von Losberg, Liz Burk, Loretta Oleck, MaryAnn McCarra- Fitzpatrick, Merle Molofsky, Michael Seri, Moira-Jo Thielking, Patricia Horn O’Brien, Robert Miss, Ruth Handel, Star Blossom Goddess, Susan Schefflein, Tony Howorth, and Catherine Wald read their selected works.
Writing the Walls, is generously supportedby NYSCA. This is the seventh year that the HVCCA, under Mara Mills, has been hosting these visual art and written word events. The goals of the project have been to democratize creativity and encourage a vision of the right of personal expression, break the barriers between viewer and participant in the arts, develop a connection between the community and art-making and art-thinking and have fun.
