Inspired by the natural and artificial matter we come in contact with on a daily basis, Roxie incorporates rudimentary printmaking techniques with a variety of water-based media to create a multi-layered and intimate textural experience for the viewer.

An unexpected little treat? “The XO Diaries”, a series of ten love poems that incorporate recycled material(s).

“Creating is my dance with life…the process comprises my dialog with the common place…my search for the extraordinary in the mundane. A tea bag, a rubber band…perhaps a stone or blade of grass…everyday elements function both as inspiration and raw material for making art. The result? An integrative exploration of the natural world and humanity; a provocative imagery where surface quality dominates and translucency suggests both human consciousness and the passage of time.” -Roxie Johnson 2016mansion
