EVANSTON ART CENTER ANNOUNCES AN EXHIBITION OF WORKS BY EVANSTON

CREATIVES

The Evanston Art Center (EAC) is excited to partner with Evanston Made, a month-long celebration of the arts in Evanston designed to create opportunities for artists to engage with the community. The accompanying exhibit, Evanston Made: Works by Evanston Creatives, will be hosted at EAC from June 3rd to June 30th . The exhibit will feature works by over 80 local artists in the first floor gallery space, as well as works by Fran Joy, Jevoid Simmons, ETHS art students, Open Studio Projects, and Over the Rainbow residents in the second floor gallery spaces. “We are thrilled to host this show of Evanston artists. A full-building takeover in June is our ideal celebration of the arts,” says Paula Danoff, President and CEO of the Evanston Art Center. The opening reception for the exhibit will be on Friday, June 3 rd from 5-8pm.

In addition to the exhibition, there are many events scheduled throughout the month as part of Evanston Made. On Saturday, June 4 th from 11-4pm, Evanston Made and EAC will proudly host a free family event, Evanston Made Kids! presented by Bon Events, which celebrates young Evanston artists and their families by offering hands-on art activities, performances, and food trucks. EAC will also serve as a starting point for the Artist Studio Tours with Evanston Made on June 4 th from 12-5pm. The public is invited to a self-directed tour of more than 75 artist studios and venues. Maps of the tour will be available for pick-up at EAC and online.

From June 3rd to June 30th the Art Center will host a Pop-Up Gallery and Store produced by AnoMalY Productions, which will be located in the lobby of the Art Center’s building on Central Street. The Pop-Up will display ceramics, clothing, glassware, jewelry, letterpress/print, metalwork, mosaic, sculpture, soap/oil, textile/fiber, and woodwork/furniture by more than 45 Evanston artists.
