Come in costume, or just as you are, and join us for the Dia de los Muertos Exhibit Opening/ Artist’s Reception, and, bring a memento of your loved one to put on the interactive installation, The Ofrenda (Altar). “Meet and Greet” the participating local artists behind this contemplative, yet celebratory and colorful, exhibit that brings together the rituals of the Catholic feast day, All Souls Day, and those of the ancient Aztec and contemporary Hispanic cultures. As part of these religious and cultural rituals and traditions, the dearly departed are prayed for so they can move to the next stage of their spiritual journey, and be remembered and honored by loved ones. We invite you to view their unique visual interpretations and encourage you to consider personal loss, cultural and religious rituals and traditions, global social issues, and contemporary iconography and archetypes, like the very familiar calaveras (skulls), calacas (skeletons) and la Catrina (Lady of the Dead).

This event is free and open to the public of all ages. We look forward to your visit!
