The Marlborough Arts Center has a full schedule of Fall/Early Winter Classes for 2012. The instructors are well-known award-winning artists who enjoy teaching and stimulating the creativity of students of all ages and skill levels.
Beginning in September are two new teachers with exciting classes: Wes Jenks’ 6-session “Whimsical Characters in Clay”, open to all levels, and Susan Roser’s 4-session “Mask Making for Children”, open to children aged 6 – 12.
In October, there is a new class, plus two of a continuing series. Philip Carr leads a one-evening class to create trendy steampunk journals, “It’s Getting Steamy in Here”, for adults and children over age 10. Back by popular demand are Marcia Letourneau’s 4-session “Acrylic Painting for Children”, for children 7 and older, and Audrey Prucnal’s 6-session “Watercolor Series”, for adults and serious teens.
In November, there are two returning artists: Rita Paradis‘s day-long class in “Intermediate Colored Pencils” for adults and serious teens, and Kristie Foss’s one-evening class “Retro Jewelry with New Extruded Polymer Cane Technique”, for all levels. Continuing Ryan Bothamley’s seven-week “Hand Built Pottery” class for adults and serious teens, we are fortunate to have Gary O’Neil, also from Wesleyan Potters.
Ongoing classes for adults are Dean Waite’s Thursday class “Acrylic and Oil Painting” and Dawn Tyler’s “Open Studio Painting” on Tuesdays.
Registration forms and complete details on each of these classes are available at the website www.marlborougharts.org. Current members of the Marlborough Arts Center are eligible for a 10% discount on tuition fees for regular seasonal classes. A Membership-Volunteer form is also available at the website.
