The Baltimore Museum of Art presents presents Matisse’s Dancers. The great French artist Henri Matisse who’s work lasted three decades focused a significant body of work to young dancers. The exhibition will show more than 30 dance-themed prints, drawings, and sculptures.
Most significant to the show will be a rarely shown series of 11 transfer lithographs of a dancer as they move through subtle positions and poses. Each turn of the dancer transfers into abstraction of reality, movement, and shape.
