See our National Academy collection of cast anatomical models come to live in this exciting hands on workshop- the instructor will cover the span of historical through contemporary approaches to cast drawing, ranging from the 16th century to today. The course will take you from constructive Italian renaissance and French 19th century academic approaches, to more contemporary ones while providing structural and anatomical analysis where applicable. Discussions about rendering form through effective use of line and tone will be presented. Students will have the options to draw in charcoal, graphite, chalk, and silver point and become familiar with a variety of methods and materials to formulate their own cast drawing approach suitable to their individual artistic interests.
